Much of my current project-based curriculum activities stem from teaching during distance-learning at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, I got into crafts and fiber arts for my own mental health and immediately began conceiving of ways to encourage my students to try it for theirs as well. I created this activity for my online-only AP Biology class, since it was a hands-on activity with materials I could easily mail to them. It proved to be so popular that I continue it today with my in-person AP Biology classes.
